Talise Spa at Jumeirah Bali

Beach front on the Uluwatu coast,in a resort built in the style of the Majapahit era. Pura Geger Temple

Clifftop Hindu sea temple above Geger Beach, especially atmospheric during full moon ceremonies.

Culture

Uluwatu Temple (Pura Luhur Uluwatu) + Kecak Fire Dance

A sacred Hindu sea temple dramatically perched on a 70-metre cliff edge. Time the visit for late afternoon; the sunset Kecak performance (around 80 performers, entirely vocal, no instruments) is one of the most-requested experiences on the island.

Beach clubs

Uluwatu has the island's best variety: Sundays Beach Club (accessed by private funicular down the cliff face), El Kabron (Spanish-Mexican menu, nightly sunset live music), White Rock Beach Club (Melasti Beach, infinity pool), and Roosterfish (cabana day passes with food-voucher credit).

Surfing

Uluwatu is Bali's surfing capital, with world-class breaks; also a strong spot for those wanting to simply watch from a cliffside bar.

Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Cultural Park

Home to one of the world's largest statues (Vishnu riding Garuda), with cultural dance performances and panoramic views.

Bingin Beach

A laid-back, bohemian favourite between Dreamland and Padang Padang, reached via steep cliffside steps. Known for a consistent left-hand surf break (better suited to intermediate/advanced surfers), striking limestone cliffs, and some of the best sunset warungs on the peninsula. Swimming is only advisable at calm low tide given the reef and currents.

Padang Padang Beach

One of Bali's most photographed beaches (made famous by Eat Pray Love), accessed through a narrow rock-cave staircase between cliffs. More accessible and lively than Bingin, with calmer, more beginner-friendly water and a livelier vendor scene. Best visited early morning or late afternoon to avoid the midday crowds. Entrance fee required.

Koral - Nusa Dua

The Apurva Kempinski. Bali's first aquarium restaurant — diners surrounded by manta rays, sharks and coral reef. Michelin-starred Chef Jean-Baptiste Natali; Zen, Gourmet and Experience degustation menus. Book the tunnel-side tables well ahead — a top pick for honeymoons and special occasions (proposals, birthdays can be arranged).

Kayuputi - Nusa Dua, The St. Regis.

One of Bali's original fine-dining rooms — pan-Asian haute cuisine with Balinese-inspired ingredients, all-white dining room over Nusa Dua Beach. 14 consecutive years of the Wine Spectator Award. Coral trout carpaccio and seafood linguine are standouts.

Cuca - Jimbaran, Jimbaran sunset

Spanish-influenced, built on local Balinese produce and Jimbaran's fish market. Multi-course chef's tasting menu; watch sunset on the beach before dinner. Strong honeymoon pick.

Piasan - Nusa Dua, Kayumanis Nusa Dua.

Italian-with-tropical-twist in a private villa setting; char-grilled black Angus steak with portobello risotto is the signature dish.

Rockfish - Uluwatu

Fine dining built into a natural cave, 70m above the Indian Ocean, opening onto a glass-floored terrace. Kitchen led by ex-Nobu chef Andrey Legkiy — seafood-focused (oysters, sashimi, lobster linguine) alongside Wagyu and truffle-sauced chicken. One of the most striking settings on the peninsula; book well ahead.

Cire - Uluwatu, Alila Villas Uluwatu.

Contemporary Mediterranean-inspired fine dining, open-air setting, panoramic ocean views — pan-seared barramundi, steamed mussels, braised lamb shank.

Waatu - Uluwatu

The Ungasan, above Sundays Beach Club. High-end yakitori and flame-grill, cooked entirely over hot coals with no gas or electricity — wood-fired flatbread, garlic prawn yakitori, Australian Wagyu flank steak.

El Kabron - Uluwatu

Beach clubwith anupmarket Spanish restaurant — patatas bravas, cheese croquetas, Valenciana paella, churros — plus a nightly sunset party with live saxophone, violin and trumpet.

Soleil - Nusa Dua

The Mulia. Mediterranean/Pan-Asian brunch, seafood bar, live grill stations.
